Yau Khai Ling

Experience

Khai Ling was admitted to the High Court of Malaya in 2009 and subsequently qualified to practice corporate and commercial Singapore law under Section 36B of the Legal Profession Act 1966.

Before joining Insights Law, Khai Ling practised in the highly regarded corporate and mergers and acquisitions practise group of Morgan Lewis Stamford (a Singapore law corporation affiliated with Morgan Lewis & Bockius) and later, as a director in ZICO Insights Law LLC.

Khai Ling is also the founding partner of KhaiLing Yau Chambers, a Malaysian boutique corporate law firm closely affiliated with our firm. As a fast-growing firm since its establishment in June 2020, KhaiLing Yau Chambers was nominated as a finalist for both the Rising Law Firm of the Year and the Transactional Boutique Law Firm of the Year awards at the prestigious Asian Legal Business Malaysia Law Awards 2022.

Khai Ling primarily focuses on a wide range of mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, and cross-border corporate and commercial transactions, including reverse takeovers, initial public offerings, schemes of arrangement, delistings, rights issues, joint ventures and corporate restructuring. Khai Ling’s practice also focuses on digital assets and blockchain-related matters, where her clientele covers international crypto exchanges and enterprises seeking alternative fundraising avenues via digital assets. The Malaysian Bar Council often invites her to conduct seminars concerning the regulatory framework governing digital assets and blockchains.
