Collecting your personal data

We may collect your personal data in the following manner:

  • when you provide the personal data to us (e.g. when you communicate with us via telephone, email, SMS, WhatsApp, WeChat, post or by any other means);
  • in the ordinary course of our relationship;
  • when you subscribe to our publication(s), alerts and/or announcements;
  • when you register for any of our seminars, webinars and/or events (including subscribing to be on our mailing list);
  • when you visit or use our website or premises; and
  • when third parties provide it to us.

  • your name and contact details (e.g. phone numbers and email addresses);
  • your national identification number (only where necessary and relevant);
  • any information about you in relation to matters on which you instruct us or in which you are involved (e.g. your date of birth, gender, nationality and employment information);
  • your attendance records at our seminars, webinars and/or events;
  • your likeness and/or voice (e.g. in the form of photographs or video recordings);
  • your subscription preferences on our mailing list; and

When required for any of the abovementioned purposes, you consent to us transmitting your personal data to other jurisdictions out of Singapore as may be necessary. We will ensure that your personal data receives a standard of protection that is comparable to that under the PDPA. We will endeavour to take all reasonable steps to ensure the security and integrity of your personal data, in accordance with the PDPA.

Where you provide us with any personal data of third parties, you confirm that you have obtained all necessary consents to do so and we will only process such personal data for the purposes set out above, in accordance with the PDPA.

Retention

We may retain your personal data for as long as is necessary for us (even after our engagement has ended) to fulfil any of the abovementioned purposes.

Use of cookies

Cookies are pieces of information or small files that a website transfers to the memory or hard drive of a visitor’s computer for record-keeping purposes. As required under the PDPA, we will take reasonable care to protect your personal data from unauthorised access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, destruction or similar risks.

All emails sent to and from Insights Law LLC may be monitored to ensure compliance with internal policies and to protect our business.
